Diversity is America's Future

Ensuring the future of technology has a place for all by 2040

Vision Statement

To create an equitable technology sector reflective of an equal distribution of opportunity, leadership, and power regardless of race, gender, or socioeconomic background by 2040.

Mission Statement

The EVOTEK Giving Foundation seeks to build an opportunity ecosystem, where every person who wants a career in tech is able to participate and thrive.

The 3 A’s

By the decade of 2024, minorities are projected to become the majority of the U.S. population, yet our technology sector statistics are following a different trajectory.

The heart of the EVOTEK Giving Foundation is to ensure we deliver thoughtful programs centered on funding systems that allocate more instructional resources and opportunities to urban districts through the 3 A’s.

Access

We work to even the technology playing field, so access is never gauged by race, gender, or socioeconomic background.

Awareness

With access comes aspiration. We work to ensure today’s youth know the opportunities and advantages of Pursuing a purpose versus a paycheck.

Affordability

Pursuing purpose takes time. We work to break financial barriers and increase financial literacy so youth can focus on completing their studies to become our future technology leaders.

Shared roads and passions

New Project

Our executive team understands first-hand the challenges minority leaders face. Through these challenges, the foundation was born to create a more equitable technology sector for all.

Commemorating Tech Leaders

The Foundation has solicited donors to support specific scholarships established in the names of individuals who left us far too early and played a significant role in the technology sector. These individuals shared a common goal of helping youth achieve their dreams, so these scholarships ensure their legacy lives on for generations to come.

This scholarship honors the tenacious, kind, humble and funny immigrant from Egypt who embraced opportunities before her and never let go of her heritage. Often the only woman in the room, Kathleen Mito never cowered but always outstretched her hand to bring another woman to the table.

After graduating from UCI, a relative mentioned his recent “CLUB” trip to Greece. Not knowing what that meant, or even what “IT” meant, she blurted “I want to work with you.” Within months, Kathleen moved to the Bay Area for her internship at SUN and commuted to So Cal on weekends to attend Pepperdine where she obtained her MBA. Kathleen secured a full-time position and, not only learned the business, but thrived. After growing her accounts exponentially, Kathleen moved on to the software side and made her mark at various companies, including OnX, CA, HP, HPE, and MicroFocus.

Kathleen invested in relationships and cultivated a vast and meaningful network of colleagues and customers throughout the industry that became lifelong friends. Not only was she an incredible force in the technology world, Kathleen’s committed to effectuating meaningful change.

A generous portion of every check earned would anonymously go to families in need. DiveHeart Foundation was a natural fit for this avid scuba diver as she shared underwater experiences with people of varying “abilities” as much-needed therapy.

Kathleen held fast to her faith; throughout her life and her illness (an abrupt diagnosis of Aplastic Anemia and complication of mucormycosis rhinosinusitis) which she aptly called her “hurricane.” Kathleen continued working and closing deals while receiving treatment and went to be with the Lord on May 8, 2019.

Jonathan Oliver was a young man that impacted and touched an extraordinary number of people. He did this through his genuine love and appreciation for everyone he interacted with. As a man who approached life with pure gratitude for those who invested in him, and who valued his faith, career, and relationships, Jonathan made sure to serve others whenever possible.

Business partners, co-workers, friends, and family have all had their lives positively impacted by Jonathan. Jonathan was most happy in his career when he could find ways to make his partners and customers successful through leveraging technology. Jonathan is survived by two young nieces and knew how important it was to create more opportunity for females within the technology field.
